The Global Forum "New Era – New Paths" took place on August 20-21 in Moscow at the Digital Business Space. Over 1,000 delegates from 55 countries participated. At the organizers' invitation, Evgeny Rusetsky, a representative of the Center for Global and Regional Studies at the Institute of History, Archaeology, and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a member of the Board of the Committee of Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation, participated in the forum, PrimaMedia reports.
The forum discussed the implementation of Russian President Vladimir Putin's initiative to build a Greater Eurasian Partnership. The forum's program included thematic sessions sponsored by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the Civil 20.
The plenary session was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Pankin; CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali (UAE); Director of the Center for Information and Arab-Russian Studies Majid Abdulaziz al-Turki (Saudi Arabia); Member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission Goar Barseghyan; CEO of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for the Promotion of New Projects Svetlana Chupsheva; Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrei Klimov; Member of the Bundestag from the electoral district of Zwickau Matthias Moosdorf (Germany); Head of the Representative Office in the Russian Federation of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China Chamber of International Commerce Gao Qi and other speakers.
At the session "Business Dialogue Russia - Southeast Asia. China. DPRK," Yevgeny Rusetsky, Vice President of the International Conference on Foreign Relations and Entrepreneurs (ICIE), Head of the Korea and Southeast Asia Department at the Institute of Historical and Ethnographic Studies (IAE) Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and PhD in Political Science, presented a paper titled "The Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and the DPRK: Strategy, Challenges, and Opportunities." According to the expert, this document not only symbolizes the strengthening of relations between the two countries but also serves as an indicator of changing regional strategies, touching on issues of economics, security, and global influence.
Forum participants at this session also listened with interest to presentations by Nam Vignaket, former Minister of Industry and Trade of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; Haiphil Elmy Bin Jamil, Commercial Attaché of the Malaysian Embassy in Moscow; Thit Lynn Oung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Russian Federation; Alexey Maslov, Director of the Institute of Asian and African Countries at Lomonosov Moscow State University; and other speakers. Important international agreements were signed during the meeting of the World Forum "New Era—New Paths."
