Scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation between the Russian Federation and China within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

On June 5, the first Russian-Chinese scientific and practical conference "Scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation between the Russian Federation and China within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization" was held at the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Vladivostok. The event became an important platform for discussing the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of science, technology and humanitarian exchanges, and the participation of business structures of the two countries in this process.

Leading scientists from both countries spoke at the conference.

Director of the Institute of Eurasian Development, the Center for Development Studies of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Yongquan in his report "Relying on the Traditions of Russian-Chinese Cooperation during the Second World War and Promoting the Formation of a Multipolar World" emphasized the aspects of international law in maintaining the international system, with the UN at the center. Director of the Chinese Academy of International Studies Li Ziguo made a report "SCO Regional Cooperation in the Field of Security: Contributions and Challenges". Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy Chairman of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Center for Global and Regional Studies of the Institute of Atomic Energy and Ethnography of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Lavrentyevich Larin in his report

“Ensuring Security in Northeast Asia: In Search of Compromise Solutions” focused on aspects of the policies of Northeast Asian states in the current period and their impact on security in the region.

Doctor of Economics, leading researcher at the Institute of Economic Research of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Khabarovsk) Dmitry Aleksandrovich Izotov focused on the topic in his report

"The Contribution of the Digital Economy to Economic Development and Interaction between Russia and China: Current Significance and Prospects".

Volynchuk Andrey Borisovich, Doctor of Political Science, leading researcher at the Center for Global and Regional Studies of the Institute of Historical and Ethnographic Studies of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in his report “Cross-border interaction and regional policy: is it possible to make border territories growth points?” emphasized the great potential for economic growth in the two countries through cross-border cooperation.

Junior research fellow at the Institute of Eurasia of the Chinese Academy of International Studies Li Tianyi in his report “SCO cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence: status and prospects” noted possible growth points for the digital economy through cooperation of the SCO countries in this area.

The conference participants considered key areas of cooperation, including innovative technologies, joint research projects, educational and cultural initiatives. The importance of strengthening partnership within the SCO for sustainable development and regional stability was emphasized. The conference was attended by member of the Public Chamber of Primorsky Krai, Vice President of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, member of the Primorsky branch of the Union of Lawyers of Russia Rusetsky E.A. and representatives of the Association of the Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Asia-Pacific Region.

The organizers and guests noted the high level of discussions and expressed confidence that this format of interaction will contribute to the deepening of Russian-Chinese cooperation and will assist public and private economic structures of the two countries in developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
