On March 13, a round table was held at the site of the Presidium of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, dedicated to the issue of building a nuclear power plant in Primorsky Krai. The event was attended by scientists, power engineers, representatives of the authorities, business and the public of the region, as well as members of the Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Asia-Pacific Region.
The key topics during the discussion were:
- Safety and Environment – Participants stressed the importance of adhering to international standards to minimise environmental impact.
- Economic aspects – long-term profitability of projects and public-private partnership mechanisms were discussed.
- Innovative technologies in the design and construction of nuclear power plants, including digitalization of processes.
The participants agreed that the development of nuclear energy requires an open dialogue between all interested parties, as well as more active work in this direction.
